a post for god muruga. I was just looking if I did something on him again. god muruga has together with Jesus and Baba ji the strongest influences up until now to me.
Muruga gets visualized very often as child. this is a pencil drawing based on my favorite Muruga picture as of today.
Ganesh won a competition with Muruga. Shiva was asking them to surround the world to show who worshipped his parents more. Muruga took his peacock and flew off. he worshipped his parents in all countries and temples of the world and came back. meanwhile Ganesha stayed behind and considered. as he was traveling on his mouse he didn’t see how he could win the competition. but them he came up with an idea. he went to his parents lord shiva and parvarti. he surrounded them by walking around them. shiva was puzzled and asked him what he was doing. ganesha answered: “you are my universe and I worship only thee.” they were surprised with the answer but granted him the superiority of the two in respect to wisdom and other qualities. ganesha is also to be worshipped first in every service. this is at least one other story.
one more story is (this I heard only one time): as muruga circled the entire world he is still a very active spiritual guide in all countries.
